Swami Vivekananda on Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa

The thing is this: Sri Ramakrishna is far greater than his disciples understand him to be; He is the embodiment of infinite spiritual ideas capable of development in infinite ways. Even if one can find a limit to the knowledge of Brahman, one cannot measure the unfathomable depths of our Master's mind! One gracious glance of his eyes can create a hundred thousand Vivekanandas at this instant! If he chooses now instead to work through me, making me his instrument, I can only to his will.

One day at Dakshineshwar, while he was in a condition of super consciousness, Ramakrishna said:
'Jiva is Shiva. Who then dare talk of showing mercy to them? Not mercy, but service, service, for man must be regarded as God!'
Vivekananda was present. When he heard those pregnant words, he said to Shivananda:
'I have heard a great saying today. I will proclaim the living truth to the world.'
And Swami Shivananda added:
'If anyone asks for the foundation of the innumerable acts of service done by the Ramakrishna Mission since then, he will find it there.
